lending a hand
been thinking about something ever since it happened last thursday
Driving to the track to do a workout
Windows down, music blastin.
of course the windows are down, my AC is broke
and I'm too poor/lazy to fix it right now
Pull into the track parking lot
see this guy
We make direct eye contact
Lasts 1.5 seconds
He throws his hand up and yells something as I drive by
Normally I would have stopped and helped almost anyone
But my instinct and gut told me not to stop
Didn't trust him at all
Just off of a glance
Maybe my instincts are right.
But then again maybe they are wrong.
Maybe he needed change, to borrow a cell phone, or maybe he wanted to hold a knife at me and borrow my car for good.
And maybe I'm safer because I didn't stop
But maybe humanity overall would have been a little better off if I did stop

You always need to follow your
instincts. That is the only
way God can lead you. Sounds
as if you did the right thing.
